Had dinner at stox found piece of 18 inch string in the food. They said you only have to pay for half. But I only ate half.

Best breakfast place. Busy on Saturday morning. Bacon was delicious.

I love their spaghetti and garlic bread It's an old place that's been around a long time. They have great iced tea. We always have great service.

The food was great! The attention given by most of the employees is amazing. Our waitress could do a lot better though. Other than that, like I said, the place is great! 💯

Great place, good food, old fashioned! The service here is always great and friendly. Great pancakes for breakfast, their burgers and sandwiches are very good and they have one of the best if not best chicken pot pies I've had. Speaking of pies, their pies are fantastic. Great place for them during the Thanksgiving weeks. That also have great cream cheese pies. They also have a cocktail lounge where you can get a drink, order some food and watch the games! Highly recommended!

I really like this place. Great breakfast. The French toast OMG! Delish. The bacon is very thick...The carne asada breakfast plate for brunch was delish and it comes with a mimosa... I highly recommend it.

I love having breakfast here, the waiters/chefs are so friendly. I really wish STOX would open for "Carry Out", like other restaurants during this COVID 19 LOCKDOWN. I'm so craving their eggs this morning.

Went to Stox after having not been there for at least 15 years. I had clearly forgotten how good their breakfast is. This place is still around for a reason. The breakfast was very good, and at a good price. The service is equally good. The diner is well worn, well used. Stepping inside is going back in time. I highly recommend the place. If you want a good breakfast at a good price this is the place to go.

Stox is a very nice old style diner, the furnishings are brilliant and the customer service is just as exceptional. They have a Bar, Bakery, and diner all in one. The Bar is on the other side of the building so its nice and quiet on the opposite side. They have a very large assortment of pies and cakes and are even diabetic friendly if you want to custom order a pie. Lorenia made us feel right at home and suggested their house salsa they make, which was great. They also make their own syrup which is very falvorful. Thanks Lorena and Stox, be back again!

Stopped in here for breakfast with a few co-workers. Hostess was friendly there was no wait, seated in minutes.Waiter was fast, service was great, food was excellent and had good flavor. Corn beef hash extra crispy 😋 just the way I like it. Only thing was the restrooms were super dirty. Homeless guy was in there and it smelled like peeeee.

Always excellent meals.. and you won't leave hungry. Avocado topped omelette was super yummy, pancakes done to perfection...corned beef hash was deemed perfect also. Very clean; nice bar; friendly staff.

I've been coming here for last 30 years. Tuesday tortilla soup and Thursday tortilla salad. Their homestyle breakfast is so hearty. My favorite diner in SoCal.

Really Dope place to hit for fresh coffee and bomb breakfast. My only concern was the flies inside with the pies. 🤔

Wonderful place to enjoy breakfast, mimosa brunch, or even a cocktail and watch sports! The service is excellent, especially if you are lucky enough to be served by Betty "Boop", who has been here for 32 years, and, boy, has she seen it all! You will dine with the locals of Downey, including the mayor, and if you are lucky, they will save you a seat "with your name on it".... Great French Toast, and breakfast fried rice with eggs and avocado on top! And their homemade PIES! Fresh whipped cream pineapple cake! Yummy! There's a reason it's been going strong for 50 years!

This place was liitt!!! We ordered the French toast to go with eggs! It was amazing! They put everything in the bag including syrup and butter and it tasted just as fresh as if we were eating in! Great prices nice smiling faces!

Good old fashion breakfast, you can't go wrong coming here. They even have posole ! That's my go to ! Very tasty!

I've lived nearby over 20 years and just recently discovered Stox. Had breakfast for dinner. Tried their French toast combo it was good. Got a great cherry pie to go. On another visit I had their jumbo shrimp combo, that was just OK. The shrimp were a little dry. I tried their lemon meringue pie and I wasn't a fan, but their other pies and pastries look very good. My son enjoyed his hamburger and hot fudge sundae. Oh I also had a delicious mint tea. The best part is they have a Ms. Pacman and Galaga video game! Brought back childhood memories of the 80's.

Good food, good service great prices. Drove over an hour to get some Stox. Stop in and enjoy.

We enjoy the counter. Always greeted by the staff. They are good peeps and funny! The food is comfort food and their pies are yummy.

This little hole on the wall has been here for years, they have wonderful comfort food. The chicken pot pie is amazing.

As it being our first time at Stox restaurant, we had an outstanding experience!! The food was great with patient and welcoming service. We enjoyed the atmosphere, vibe and will definitely come again.

The place offers a great range of fresh food. I love eating here. The employees are always very kind, rates are convenient and the spot is always clean.

I ordered the country ham steak and eggs with o'Brian potatoes, I enjoyed it, the pecan pie was good also :) I payed no more than $19 for everything.

Betty gave us excellent service. Food was tasty and reasonably price. We will be back.

Old school diner/bar type restaurant. Makes you feel like you're stepping into 1983. Good food, nice staff. Pleasantly surprised. Charming.

Great great food and great prices!!! The mushroom soup was delicious! You could tell they made it fresh today, and their albondiga soup was great as well. We will definitely be coming back.

Great place to eat. Food is really amazing and portion size is good, the place still keeps the essence of an old cafeteria. Recommended place to visit.

Tuesdays for Tortilla Soup are a MUST. It is delicious, you have to get the large.... If you don't you will regret it. 10 stars.

4 stars for the great service! The breakfast was not something that I'd go looking for again. My sugar cured thick ham was not so thick and was a slice of canned ham 😲McDonald's is a better option for breakfast.
